Would you like to attend a music performance at dawn? Well if so, come down to William Vincent Wallace Plaza on Sunday 27th May at 7.15 am to hear the wonderful choral sounds of the De La Salle Senior Choir and Deise Active Retirement Association.
The Waterford Healing Arts Trust has organised this Dawn Chorus as part of the Bealtaine Festival which celebrates creativity in older people. This event has been kindly sponsored by the Tower Hotel.
The Dawn Chorus is taking place in counties all over Ireland on Sunday 27th May and everyone is welcome on the day to take in this beautiful and unique performance happening ideally at a waterfront location. William Vincent Wallace Plaza is the perfect location for this event in Waterford and the programme includes a performance of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen the Beatles and the Beatles’ classic Let It Be.
Dominic Campbell, Artistic Director of Bealtaine, says, “Bealtaine is built DIY-style as people invest in themselves, they allow themselves time to make art for pleasure and curiosity. It’s a generous investment; others take great pleasure from the art that’s made. The Dawn Choruses are an example of this – this event is an incomparable reason to get out of bed!”
The De La Salle choir and members of the Deise Active Retirement Association have been rehearsing together over the past couple of weeks under the directorship of Brother Ben Hanlon.
