Mission / Aims

Arts and health is an important sector for Offaly County Council, for the creative, expressive, wellbeing, social and community benefit of participants but also for the professional development of local artists. The County Offaly Arts Strategy Inspire-Imagine-Involve 2018 – 2022 states that at the heart of our mission is to ‘celebrate, expand and further support the contribution of the arts to people’s personal development, their well-being, their health, their local community and the economy.’ An objective of Goal 1 within the strategy is to  ‘Support Offaly’s Arts, Health and Wellbeing organisation Anam Beo reach its full potential for the delivery of high quality arts engagement programmes in healthcare and other community settings.’ Offaly County Council Arts Office provide an annual grant to Anam Beo an independent arts organisation, (also supported by the HSE)  who provide regular workshops, projects and events in healthcare facilities and day care centres throughout the county.
