Age & Opportunity has announced the Fairland Collective as the newly appointed Bealtaine artists in residence at St. Joseph’s Community, Shankill, Co. Dublin, the only care home in Ireland solely dedicated to dementia care.
Through this residency, the Bealtaine Festival creates an opportunity for a care setting and its residents to engage creatively with visual artists over the course of a number of months. The residency also offers an opportunity for the artists to develop their specific skills in relation to working in arts and health settings.
Fairland Collective’s projects offer poetic and lively interruptions to ordinary life. Through art and action, the collective’s work facilitates encounters that imagine and create new common ways of working and living together.
Age & Opportunity is also pleased to announce that a programme of residencies in care settings will take place in 2019, through funding provided by the Creative Ireland National Creativity Fund.
