Creative Exchanges is an accredited training course for activities coordinators in care settings and artists interested in engaging with older people in a care setting. Led by Age & Opportunity and running over seven weeks, participants will learn how to plan and facilitate arts activities for older people. The autumn 2019 course will take place at the Irish Museum of Modern Art from 11 September to 24 October.

The course is a QQI Level 6 accredited qualification (a component award in Arts and the Community 6N3585), consisting of seven full days, 10am-4pm each day, over a two-month period.

No prior qualifications are required, but an interest in arts and creativity or working with older people, as well as a commitment to attend the seven days training and undertake a significant amount of self-directed project work and study, is essential.

Course Dates: Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 September, Thursdays 19, 26 September and Thursdays 10, 17 and 24 October 2019.

Participants must attend all sessions in order to complete the programme and it will be necessary to carry out a project with a group of older people in a day care or residential setting.
