The Arts for Health Partnership Programme in West Cork is releasing a three-part podcast series, beginning on 8 April 2020, each one tackling an issue relating to their Arts for Health work and featuring the key players who make up the programme: artists, healthcare professionals, participants, manager and partners.
Presenter Liz Clark leads the conversations adding her unique perspective as an musician and artist working on the programme. The series portrays the complexity and the value of culture and the arts in healthcare, sharing the challenges and successes of innovation and creativity in a hospital setting from the different perspectives of those involved.
The series was recorded throughout 2019. A new episode will be released each Wednesday at 1:30pm on the Arts for Health Podcast
The first episode explores What is it like to be an artist working in healthcare? Visual artists, composers and a poet making art in long-term care and day care settings discuss the challenges and the rewards with healthcare staff.

Arts for Health Partnership Programme
Arts for Health partnership programme is based in West Cork and provides a managed arts programme for older people in healthcare settings since 2005. It takes place in Community Hospitals in Castletownbere, Clonakilty, Dunmanway, Schull, Skibbereen, Bantry General Hospital Care of the Elderly Unit and Day Care Centres in Bantry, Castletownbere, Clonakilty, Dunmanway and Skibbereen. Managed by Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre, Arts for Health runs all year round and is delivered by a team of professional artists from different disciplines. artsforhealthwestcork.com
