The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) is seeking a Curator: Art and Ageing in a full time / permanent role. The purpose of this role is to continue to create the potential for more interventions for people living with dementia and to embed practice in IMMA programmes through adopting an action research model.

This action research will allow for testing out new ways to develop the Azure model. Inspired by the Meet Me at MoMA programme at MoMA, New York, Azure offers guided exhibition tours specifically designed to support people living with dementia and their family, friends or professional carers, to engage with the art work on show and enjoy a social museum experience.

The role of the curator is:

  • To embed evaluation methodologies that are sensitive to the ‘social model’ of engagement that IMMA adopts
  • To work in partnership with dementia-service providers and other strategic partners to continue to both grow the number of participants and to reflect on its effectiveness
  • To disseminate the learning through our national and international networks
  • To build on the work of the two-year Fellowship (2018/19)

The deadline for applications is 20 April 2020.
