Since 2013, artsandhealth.ie has awarded an annual bursary for the documentation of an arts and health project. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, arts programming in healthcare settings has been curtailed and many planned projects will not be able to take place or will need to be re-envisioned.

As our colleagues in healthcare provide care for people in the most challenging of circumstances and the health landscape has shifted to respond to this public health crisis, there is a need for reflection and enquiry about the nature of arts practice in health contexts.

This year’s bursary will therefore be offered to artists working in arts and health contexts to reflect on their practice. The bursary is open to individual professional artists working in any artform within the field of arts and health in the Republic of Ireland.

Successful applicants will share learning arising from the bursary with the wider arts and health community via artsandhealth.ie. How this learning is presented is at the discretion of selected artists.

Three awards of €2000 each will be offered to successful applicants.
