Dance and Older People – Pilot Mentoring Programme for Artists

As part of a continuing partnership supporting professional development for dance artists working with older people, Age & Opportunity and Dance Ireland are piloting Raise the Floor, a programme for professional development in this field.

This programme will offer mentoring and two funded placements with experienced dance artists/companies for dance artists who are in interested in developing skills and knowledge in the field of dance with older people.

There are two awards, one aimed at mid-career artists, and one at early career artists who are interested in entering this area of practice.

Awardees will be matched with a mentor, and together agree a programme which should include working in community or care settings, and advice and support sessions with the established artist.

Placements will take place between July and October 2021.
